Your Puppy's Potential Starts With You
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where does training take place? - Mainly at your Home but can include outings around your local neighbourhood too. Shouldn’t I take them to a class for socialisation? - Contray to popular belief, training classes are not a particularly good setting for Socialisation. Classes are good for teaching puppy to listen around distractions and for you to meet other new puppy people. But they shouldn't be considered a prime socialisation opportunity. What methods do you use? - I only use kind methods with lots of rewards! Our aim is to get puppy consistently 'offering' us the behaviours you like as well as learning all the usual Cues. And while they're learning to do so, we manage the environment while giving puppy clear communication and within reasonable expectations for baby brains. Is there lot’s of Homework? - I won't give you set quotas for when and for how long to train. Setting Puppy (and you) up for success will be more about your actions and reactions to normal puppy stuff. Intervals for practising common Cues such as Sit and Recall are super short and sweet 3-5 minutes a few times a day. How flexible are your service hours? - My normal consulting hours are 10am - 7pm Tuesday to Saturday. Sunday afternoon and Monday are my days off. How frequent are the sessions? - You don't have to stick to the same day and time, nor do you have to do weekly appointments for Puppy Principles. Depending on our diaries and where Puppy is 'at' you can every other week or every 10 days for example. |
